I know it has been a while with me stating that the release is on the way … well i finally have the RC1 iso put together and it is available to download from the new project page at SourceForge ….
Please download and test and leave all feedback on the forum …

Ok so February is nearly over and i can hear you asking where are the iso’s i promised … as you know from my previous announcement i had a car accident … this led to a number of cascading events after that incident … namely i was let go from my Job … i had a second accident on black ice in the hire vehicle … lost the finance on my new car because of the losing the job thing …
so at the moment i am very much working to getting back into work … i have managed to send up the maintenance release of Phoenix to PCLOS …. this will now give me all my spare time between job hunting to concetrate on producing the promised Phinx Releases for 32bit and 64bit …
so please have patience and i am working as fast as i can for you all

Repo …
Good news … today i have finally got the repo populated with the current rpms … please follows these instrustions to add it to your current install …
Open Thunar as root and goto /etc/apt and open your sources.lst
paste the below line at the bottom of the list
rpm http://cozmodesigns.co.uk/repo/phinx/x86/apt/ phinx/2012 athlon i586 noarch
save the sources.lst
open synaptic goto settings >>> repositories … remove xfce4 from the PCLinuxOS repo but dont remove the PCLinuxOS repo ..
click ok and reload synaptic and mark all xfce4 packages for reinstallation
click apply to install all files …
XFCE4 Weather Applet …
i have updated a few more applets to work with the latest xfce4 4.9 panel … one which i am especially pleased with is getting the weather applet semi functional …
it can only be installed manually at the moment … go here for instructions
this will allow the applet to be re-added to the panel and display the Weather for your local area … teh only function missing is it will not populate the 5 day forecast … this is being worked on tho

Hi All …
Just an update for all with regards to Phinx Desktop and how i am coming along … currently working on the default themes for the iso … then the last updates and a Beta iso’s will be flying out the door …
Just have a few more 64bit packages to update … will be done over the next 2 weeks … add a few more colour varients of the default theme called Phinx Hope … it is a Graphite/Slate styled theme … with custom Xfwm4, GTK 2.0 theme … it has taken 3 weeks to get to this finalised style … i hope it is pleasing to your eyes as it is to mine … currently have 2 default wallpapers … but Louise (LJK) has generously donated a number of his wallpapers to be made available to download from the repo once the final iso’s are ready to go …
i guess you’ve all heard enough from me … here are 2 screenshots to help you see the full splendour of this theme …

and welcome to 2012 … i dunno if any of you beleive the Mayan calendar stuff going on …. but it’s all hype … and the calendar didnt finish is 2012 …. just that tablet did …. theres more tablets lol …
well i hope we all had a great xmas and new years … and you all got stuffed with turkey and presents lol … i know i did …
so far this year i have been able to package up the SRPMS for the 4.9 XFCE desktop ready to be added to both the Phinx 32bit and Phinx 64bit iso’s i am working on … i am hoping for end of Jan to have a beta release of both available to you …
I have also fed these SRPMS through to Phoenix over at PCLOS but without any Phinx tweaks …
The forum has a refreshed look and feel to it so please take a look … join and start contributing … all are welcome … we promote a positive attitude …

Having finally completed the move to my new home … we are almost ready for next weekend … it will be family cheer … food … and drinks all round …
I pray that in this holiday time … people are with the ones they love … and if they cant be they are in a place where they can share a little of the Christmas cheer … i pray for our soldiers to be safe and return home soon …
i also pray for those that cannot receive or be part of this festive time to be watched over and looked after by God …

i was hoping to be a bit quicker at responding … the move is 85% of the way done … November is nearly over and i still have a knackered shoulder …
things are absolutely crazy at the moment … i just need 2 new pairs of arms and another 20hrs in a day to get everything done …

Hi all …
i have recently been very busy … having had to have my shoulder reset by having is dislocated again … so i am in physio twice weekly at the moment to help get movement back into the shoulder and arm …
I have recently received the keys to my new home so over the coming weeks i shall be moving … i will also have no internet either so i shall be afk for 2-3 weeks … altho i am hoping that the lack of net should not impact too much with the iso creation … so we should have the RC iso in the next few weeks ready for the new year …

today is the day when we celebrate all hallows eve …
All Hallows’ Eve falls on 31st October each year, and is the day before All Hallows’ Day, also known as All Saints’ Day in the Christian calendar. The Church traditionally held a vigil on All Hallows’ Eve when worshippers would prepare themselves with prayers and fasting prior to the feast day itself.
The name derives from the Old English ‘hallowed’ meaning holy or sanctified and is now usually contracted to the more familiar word Hallowe’en.
In the early 7th century Pope Boniface IV consecrated the Pantheon in Rome, formerly a temple to all the gods, as a church dedicated to Saint Mary and the Martyrs, and ordered that that date, 13th May, should be celebrated every year.
It became All Saints’ Day, a day to honour all the saints, and later, at the behest of Pope Urban IV (d. 1264), a day specially to honour those saints who didn’t have a festival day of their own.
In the 8th century, on 1st November, Pope Gregory III dedicated a chapel to all the saints in St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. Gregory IV then made the festival universal throughout the Church, and 1st November has subsequently become All Saints’ Day for the western Church.
The Orthodox Church celebrates All Saints’ Day on the first Sunday after Passover – a date closer to the original 13th May.
